The Burton’s to the Western Province of

Papua New Guinea

Thank you for visiting our site to learn more about us and our burden and calling to the people of Papua New Guinea. We desire to reach the lost and dying in the Western Province of Papua New Guinea by planting churches, training Nationals, and establishing Christian radio stations throughout the entire area.

As you continue to read and explore the various pages, videos, galleries and blogs, we hope you will rejoice with us and catch the vision of what we pray to accomplish in this field for the glory of God by reaching the lost for Him.

* We are the Burton Family- Doug and Amy, children Abigail (19), Drew (17) and Elizabeth (15).

* Our sending church is Lighthouse Baptist Church San Diego, California – Pastor Doug Fisher.

* We are going to Papua New Guinea to work along side, veteran missionary Jason Russell and his family. Jason, who was also sent out by Lighthouse Baptist Church, has been in Western Province of Papua New Guinea for the last 12 years. The church he started in Daru has been turned over to a trained National pastor, and the church he is currently establishing in Wipim will soon be pastored by a trained National man.

Jason and I will be actively working in discipling and training the native men in the church and teaching them to establish churches in other villages throughout the Western Province.

Amy will be working with Ana Russell to teach the Bible to the ladies, so that they can reach out to others in their culture and win them to the Lord. The Burton children will do their part by helping to teach Sunday School and in ministering to the people with Christian music.

I will also be working with veteran missionary Brad Wells to bring Christian Radio to the Western Province. Christian radio will give the churches we establish a venue to be able to receive preaching, Godly music and other edifying programs into their homes and villages. Not only will it reach those who want it, but it will also be available for all to receive, as the Western Province has very little in the way of current radio programming.

Our hearts are with the precious souls in Wipim and beyond. Please prayerfully consider helping us in this mission with monthly financial support or perhaps a special gift, of any amount, to help get us to the field. We are willing to go.
