We arrived back in Michigan at the early part of this month and what an amazing thing to be here, now you would think by the title of this post and that we travel so much that I was speaking about what time zone we might be in, but that is not what I am talking about.

The nets are an irritation at times. They hold in heat, especially when dusty, and sometimes tear. Ana’s vigilance to keep our nets clean and maintained has protected us from the nasty Malaria sickness these past ten years in country, and allowed us to be more comfortable.

It has been another stretch of time since I have wrote anything on this blog, but it has been a busy past few weeks. I have been helping create another website, designing a prayer card for a friend, and numerous other things.
 
Since the last post we have been in Arizona, California, Oregon, and Washington. God [...]

The Blessings from above…
We are now in our 6 month of deputation and God truly has been blessing, but as you know blessings do not come without tests and trials.
We were recently given a trailer from a church in Arizona and they installed a whole new suspension just so we would not have a problem [...]

Today, we still do not have 24-hour power, but that is ok. When the power man does have diesel, the town power will come on, on Tuesdays from 8am to 12 noon and on Thursdays from 1pm to 4pm. It is also on most evenings from 6 to 11 as well. When we first came here, there was no town power to speak of.

I believed by faith, God had our family step out into deputation with only a skeleton schedule five months ago, and with zero supporting churches at the time.

This month we were looking for a game to play with friends and chose Gestures, a game where you use gestures so people can guess words, when Drew said, “Wouldn’t it be fun to play Gestures after you inhale helium?” we laughed as one of our friends told Drew, “You do not speak, you gesture”!

Well I am on my last day of Pastor’s Training School this is not a normal Pastors Conference but a school. We have class from 8:00am to 5:00pm everyday in a variety of subjects and all of them extremely helpful.

 
This week has been a busy one! All the while though it has been a great and fun week. We were able to accomplish two big things this week and we are going to do another one this upcoming week.

Over the month of January we have been all over the United States, but in a organized manner of course. One thing I say often is, “we want to be wise steward of God’s resources”.

 Alot of the posts I do, I generally try to use a catchy title that makes you want to read it. This time though, I decided to use a non-catchy title. HaHa…

Our theme for 2012 is “Follow On.” Hosea 6:3 “Then shall we know, IF we follow on to know the LORD…”
By God’s grace our people here in Wipim will understand more about their great Saviour as we “Follow on to know the LORD…” Our two church plants are also following this theme, and we anticipate some Real Growth as we “Follow On” together.

In October 2011 we started packing everything we had, well what we did not sell. Everything had to be put into four categories what we were going to sell, what was going to Papua New Guinea with us, what was going to charity and lastly what would go on the road with us in our 200 cubit foot van. (I think it might be that big).

Your typical deputation process may vary in time, it could be as little as 1 year and should not be more than 3 years depending on your field of service and what lessons you and your family may need to learn. We are tested in areas such as faith in God, dependence on God, and even trust in God.

I always used to be frightened of going up to missionary kids when I was younger. Missionary kids were my heroes, along with Pastor’s and evangelists. Going up to a missionary kids was like walking up to a movie star. I know poor comparison , but hopefully you get what I mean. They were important to me. they were somebody’s in my eyes. They still are. I still get a thrill going out to lunch with Pastor’s or getting to know different missionary families. My brother , sister and I still get so excited when a Pastor invites us to go out to lunch with him or to spend time with him and his family. I hope I never get over that. Because Pastor’s , Missionary’s , evangelist’s , These are who we should be having as our role model’s

This month as we were traveling and looking for places to eat on the go, we leave the deciding factor up to the kids. “What would you all like to eat?” when from the back of the car one of the kids said, “No Asian food and no Chinese food!”

Like the Title? I thought I would give this post an eye catching title. It really has nothing to do with the post. Anyways…..I thought I might as well update everyone on how the Burton Familia is doing….

His look was a look of being perplexed and I know he was thinking, how do you buy things? How do you but food? How do you live? Then all the sudden the words came from his lips, so then how do you get food? Do you hunt for it

We have been in several different states these past few months and in 14 churches. We have made very great and lasting friends so far. I did not think that we could make such close and lasting friends in just a couple days time. This part of deputation is actually become one of the hardest parts for my siblings and I.

We left Ohio and traveled to Marion, North Carolina, where the kids got to visit one of their favorite preachers, Pastor Tony Shirley. We enjoyed going out to lunch with Pastor and Mrs. Shirley and be able to sit under his preaching for that Sunday where God ministered to us.
